We Break Any Bike - Home
Authorised Treatment Facilities (ATFs) are permitted facilities accepting waste motor vehicles, and are able to comply with the requirements of the End of Life Vehicle (ELV) and Environmental Permitting regulations.
The Waste Crime Innovation Programme worked with the industry and trade associations to improve support to legitimate ATF businesses. As a result, guidance was produced to help ELV ATFs comply with current legislation. This helps maintain standards, and makes compliance easier and quicker, saving time and money, while protecting the environment.
Certificates of destruction
A requirement of the End of Life Vehicles (ELVs) regulations is that the last holder of any vehicle depolluted/dismantled in the following classes is issued with a Certificate of Destruction (CoD):
A CoD can only be issued by an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF). The CoD ensures that the vehicle will be treated and disposed of correctly and that it is de-registered by DVLA.
ATFs will not be given automatic access to the CoD system. Access is granted by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). The DVLA will contact a site to initiate the application process after we have informed them that the site has been issued with a permit.
